SEASON ENDS...

As of right now, the first Fantasy UFC season will end AFTER UFC 118 on August 28th.

I plan on having the second season draft immediately after the Dirty Dozen Fantasy football draft, since we're already all in one place.


****DEPENDING ON THE POSSIBILITY OF ANOTHER EVENT THE FOLLOWING WEEK, THIS COULD CHANGE.

But I would think since the NFL season starts 9/9 I believe...and the weekend before is Labor Day, we may even be drafting on this date (August 28).

Just wanted you guys to know what was up since this event was just announced/rumored.

MISC. TIDBITS

* If you're watching The Ultimate Fighter (Wednesdays on Spike); rumor has it Coach Tito Ortiz is replaced by Rich Franklin sometime during the season. This seems likely now that Chuck Liddell-Rich Franklin has been announced as the main event for UFC 115...not Liddell-Ortiz.

* Apparently the UFC is working on an immediate rematch between new 155 champ Frankie Edgar and legend BJ Penn. So, those of us hoping to get a lightweight heavyweight shot (like me with Gray Maynard) look like our wish will not be granted. I predict Penn will take back the belt in a proposed rematch. Although, I didn't expect Edgar to win the first time either I guess.

* Look for Josh Shields to join the UFC in the near future. He is fighting Dan Henderson on Strikeforce this Saturday night (On CBS), and after the fight becomes a free agent. Since he's been reported to be helping Chuck Liddell on this season's The Ultimate Fighter, and Dana White has publicly talked about Shields, he could be a real factor in the 170 or 185 pound weight class for Fantasy UFC...probably more so for next season.
